I was walking the dog around the pond this evening and retrieved a 'White Booby' form the grass verge adjacent to the path along the wall. Given the trouble the Club had last year when a stray hook embedded itself in a dog's paw and the efforts required by Alan and Colin to 'defuse' the situation it would seem appropriate to ask all fellow members and visitors to take extra care and try not to accidentally lose any hooks. This will help avoid injury to other anglers, the general public or animals and avoid potential litigation against the club.

I have been wondering whether the feeding cormorants could be disturbed by the regular use of a drone. This could be used when they are both feeding or resting and would not directly harm the birds, something that needs to be avoided at all costs. The regular disturbance may 'persuade' them to feast elsewhere. Drones are not excessively expensive although if one of our members could borrow one it could be trialed to assess whether this was an effective control measure. A drone may also have an use in disturbing poachers.
